Naucalpan

Mexico hotels

Naucalpan de Juarez is located in the state of Mexico. The word “naucalpan” means “place of four neighborhoods or four houses” in Nahuatl, and is one of the most inventive and artistic cities of Mexico, blending pre-Hispanic and colonial style with modern day ideas and sculptures. In an effort to curb pollution and clean up the city, Naucalpan has recently implemented the “Hoy No Circular” rules in the city just as in Mexico City prohibiting personal automobiles within the city limits in an effort to control pollution, making it a bit easier to breathe as a tourist-on-foot.

The most popular tourist destination in Naucalpan is Ciudad Satelite. The sculptures that make a group of five gigantic colored towers in the center of the highway are all that remains of the once “green corridor” that was environmentally conscious, but too far ahead of its time.

Naucalpan is also the home of the Virgin of Los Remedios, a repressive token of the Spanish military that was recently christened a town treasure and religious icon bringing a sense of community to the townsfolk of Naucalpan. The Naucalli Park is 43 acres of natural beauty with outdoor sports facilities and playgrounds There is even a concert hall showcasing the Symphony Band of Naucalpan who host regular musical performances.

Other tourist attractions in Naucalpan include the Cerro Moctezuma, the Conde and Tlatilco pyramid, the Villa Alpina and several historical sites. Lucha libre is not a sport for the faint of heart, but anyone up for a night of showmanship and Spanish profanity are in luck in Naucalpan.

Arena Naucalpan is located here and is the home location of the most impressive wrestling in Mexico. Lots of excitement is to be had by tourists in Naucalpan between the natural and man made art in this impressive city.
